G.E.E.C.
Gahanna Early Experience Center

An Academic Christian Preschool serving Gahanna, Westerville, New Albany, Blacklick, Columbus
and beyond!
About Our School...
The school began in 1975, offering academics for young children in a Christian environment, and we maintain that foundation to this day. Originally founded by Cheryl Ingram and Sherry Ruby, the preschool was once located at Peace Lutheran Church in Gahanna, and moved to its current location in 2003. G.E.E.C. obtained a non-profit status in 2002, and is operated by a Board of Directors to this day, which oversees the budget, tuition, curriculum and staff throughout the year. We are licensed and regulated by the state of Ohio Department of Children and Youth. You can find us on Morse Rd between Cherrybottom Rd and Hamilton Rd at the St. Luke Church, where we work together to build up the students with Christian values. The Preschool Director is Jessica Miller. The Administrator is Anita Teeters.
Our Philosophy...
Our goal is to provide an exceptional, relaxed, learning environment and curriculum that will foster the social, physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual growth of young children.
Our Curriculum...
Through a structured theme-based curriculum, we provide age-appropriate learning which implements the Early Learning and Development Standards developed by the Ohio Department of Education. With these standards as our foundation, children learn in the developmental areas of science, math, language, literacy, writing, arts & crafts, large & small muscle development, and music. We also include a Christian curriculum, which is non-denominational, open and inclusive so that children of all faiths feel welcome!

Our Staff...
Our warm and caring staff is the backbone of the school and has years, sometimes DECADES, of experience in the education of young children. Most of our staff holds a college degree and several staff members have a masters degree in education. All school employees must pass a fingerprint and background check, as well as receive First Aid/CPR training on a regular basis. We also strive to stay relevant by continuing our own education through professional development annually. Our goal is to not only help children academically, but in their social-emotional journey and overall kindergarten readiness, from being able to separate more easily from caregivers, to packing their own book bags at the end of a day.
